Supportive Living Program
Waterford Estates’ Supportive Living program is certified by the Illinois Department of Health & Family Services. This program is designed to foster independence, dignity, respect, and overall well-being for residents in a cost-effective manner. Depending on each individual’s financial and health status, Medicaid may provide assistance for the costs associated with the Supportive Living Program (SLP) for qualifying residents.
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services has secured a waiver enabling payment for services beyond what is typically covered by Medicaid, including personal care, homemaking, laundry, medication assistance, social and health activities, recreation, and access to 24-hour staff for addressing both scheduled and unscheduled needs. Residents are responsible for room and board expenses at the facility.
In Illinois, the Supportive Living Program (SLP) serves as a Medicaid-supported alternative to nursing home care for low-income older individuals. By delivering personalized care and services, residents can maintain their independence and actively participate in decision-making processes. The program prioritizes personal choice, dignity, privacy, and individuality, ensuring a supportive and empowering environment.

Rehab
Waterford Estates is your go-to destination for rehabilitation, whether recovering from a recent injury or illness, or in need of longer-term strengthening and balance improvement. Our partnership with AbleHearts Outpatient Rehabilitation provides a team of professionals who will collaborate with you and your healthcare providers to create a tailored plan to support your recovery journey and achieve your health objectives. Our multi-disciplinary rehab team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech/language therapists to provide expert support for a wide range of specialized needs caused by impairments in strength and mobility, memory, vision or hearing, or following acute episodes, including post-stroke recovery.

- Pet Therapy: an outdoor pet therapy organization comes to Waterford Estates to excite and comfort our residents
- Resident-Led Workshops: join in as other residents teach skills and share passions, including knitting, painting, bible study, yoga, and maybe share your own!
